High Speed Chase Ends With Crash in Austell

The chase began in Douglas County after a routine stop for a traffic violation.

AUSTELL, GA -- A high-speed chase ended in Austell Wednesday afternoon after a motorist being pulled over for a traffic violation in neighboring Douglas County took off.

The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta eventually flipped his car on Austell Road and then fled on foot, reports the AJC and Channel 2 Action News.

Police said the driver had outstanding warrants for his arrest from New York. He was arrested after a brief chase on foot.
