Little Leagues Across South Cobb Gear Up for Registration
Sports teams in Austell and Mableton are calling all players to come out and register for the upcoming season.
As the summer comes to a close and the school year begins, little leagues in South Cobb are registering players and forming teams for the new season.
August is the month to register if you want to play ball this fall. Listed below are leagues in South Cobb that are looking to fill their roster.
Milford Girl's Softball Association in Austell will hold registration the first three Saturdays in August from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration ends on Aug. 22. The fees for softball range from $75 to $155, depending on the age group. The season begins the day after Labor Day and will conclude at the end of October. The Milford Girls softball teams have a record that includes many championship wins and placements. Milford's Little League baseball registration is underway and will conclude on Sept. 1 at midnight. Milford Little League Baseball will begin the season on Aug. 28 at the Milford Park. The fall season of this league focuses on skill and instruction. Registration fees range from $75 to $120, depending on the age group. Milford Warriors Football and Cheer is currently registering youth at Milford Park on Hurt Road. Registration fees for football players is $200 for the season and $250 for cheerleaders. The Milford Warrior staff is focused on teaching the fundamentals of each sport and is dedicated to promoting self-confidence and self-esteem in all of their participants. Pebblebrook Junior Falcons Association (PJFA) is currently registering participants online for soccer, football, cheerleading, track & field and basketball. This program at Pebblebrook High in Mableton is used to develop well-rounded youth and unite the community through structured recreation. The progam registration fees range from $125 to $150 depending on the sport. The cheerleading try-out fee is $25 per participant. The South Cobb Raven Association is in its final days of registration. The Ravens, whose motto is "We Fly High," is open to any and every child with the desire to play or cheer. The cost for the Ravens football program is $285 for the season and registration ends Saturday. South Cobb Youth Basketball Association is currently registering interested players, girls and boys. With over 26 years of experience, this team of volunteers is ready to teach children the game and character skills needed to be a great player. Registration fees range from $110 to $135, depending on the age of the child and the team that they join. Registration will be open until Oct. 19 for ages 12 and under and registration will close on November 4 for ages 13-18. South Cobb Junior Eagles at South Cobb High in Austell closed registration on Aug. 2. Information for this football program can be viewed on-line at www.southcobb.football.net. Sweeetwater Tennis Center is currently registering youth tennis players for their junior tennis league on site. This tennis league is open to youth ages 10-18 for the fall season only. Registration is $20 for Cobb County residents and will be open until Sept. 2. The six-week season begins Sept. 10. Registration forms can be printed out online and returned to the Sweetwater Tennis Center located on Clay Road in Austell. Wallace Park Youth Association offers football and cheerleading programs for the South Cobb community. Registration has been closed for the fall season. Practice is to begin on Aug. 2.
