One Dead, Several Injured in Mableton Car Crash

The accident happened late Monday night at Mableton Parkway and Lee Industrial Boulevard.

MABLETON, GA -- Police are investigating a crash late Monday night that left one driver dead at the scene and several injured.

The incident happened around 11 pm at the intersection of Mableton Parkway and Lee Industrial Boulevard.

Police say Shanieca Waters, 20, of Mableton, was driving north on Mableton Parkway in her black Dodge Magnum. She was approaching the intersection when Pamela Sitton, 51, of Douglasville, was approaching on Discovery Boulevard in her Toyota Sequoia.

Two vehicles had stopped on Mableton Parkway at the interchange's traffic light: a black Mercedes and a black Ford Mustang.

As Sitton entered the intersection in her Sequoia on a green light, police say Waters struck the SUV on its left side after she allegedly ran a red light. The Sequoia rolled on its side before slamming into the Mustang, while Waters, in her Dodge, collided with the Mercedes.

Sitton was pronounced dead on the scene.

Waters was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, and has been listed in stable condition.

A passenger in Sitton's SUV, Julie Pugh, 74, of Douglasville, was also taken to Grady with serious injuries and is listed in critical condition. A 14-year-old boy was also in the SUV. He also remains at Grady in stable condition.

The Mustang's driver was Davis Reynolds, 38, of Atlanta. He was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and is in stable condition.

Only Evec Ulysse, 48, of Austell, was uninjured in the crash. He was driving the black Mercedes.
