Pebblebrook Linebacker Commits to Tennessee, Atlanta Flames Burn Competition in Austell

linebacker Khalid Henderson committed Tuesday to playing for Head Coach Derek Dooley and the University of Tennessee Volunteers. This came after Tennessee coaches saw Henderson play at a recent football camp, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The 6-foot, 210-pound junior was already receiving offers from Troy, UCONN, MTSU, Georgia State and nine others.
Henderson has been a starter all three years at Pebblebrook and had 13 tackles against last year, leading the team in tackles.

Clemson, South Florida, Central Florida, Kentucky and Purdue were other schools eyeing Henderson, said Pebblebrook Coach Randall Smith.
In the world of softball, the Atlanta Flames burned the competition in Austell's fast-pitch, 12-and-under softball tournament hosted by Global Sports Association.

The team, which is made up of girls hailing from Buckhead and Sandy Springs, ended the day with 18-5 and won the title game 5-2 against the Northside Youth Organization team.
