The parents of a Mableton 2-year-old are behind bars at the Cobb County jail on Friday after police say they gave their child a mixed drink which caused the boy to suffer from alcohol poisoning.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, William Hickson and Briana Moore either directly gave the child the drink, or allowed the child to drink from an adultβs glass unsupervised on Saturday night. The youngster drank a mixture of Coca-Cola and 40-proof Paul Masson brandy.

The child drank enough of the mixture to reach a blood alcohol content level of 0.29, over three times the legal driving limit. The AJC reports that child stopped breathing and was rushed to Childrenβs Healthcare of Atlanta, where he was diagnosed with alcohol poisoning.
Hickson was arrested on Monday, while Moore was booked on Tuesday, the AJC says. Cobb County jail records indicate that the couple have both been charged with first-degree cruelty to children and are both being held on $75,000 bond.
