Update: Two Dead in Mableton Crash; Four Children Seriously Injured

The driver, a Powder Springs woman, as well as a front seat passenger, was pronounced dead on the scene. The children are in a hospital.

Mableton, GA -- Two adults were killed and four children were seriously injured when an SUV slammed into a tree early Monday morning in Cobb County.

Police say Katrina Morris, 27, of Powder Springs lost control of her 1998 Honda Passport as she approached Flint Hill Road on Clay Road. Morris was killed on the scene, as was another passenger, an unidentified man, who was in the front passenger seat.

Four juveniles were in the back seat, and all of them were seriously injured and taken to Scottish Rite Hospital for treatment.

The accident happened around 6:40 Monday morning. Clay Road was closed for a short time while fire and rescue personnel had to cut the two bodies from the wreckage.
