City Council to Consider Sunday Alcohol Referendum
The question of whether to include a referendum on Sunday alcohol sales will be on the council's next meeting agenda.

Stone Mountain city council Tuesday night discussed the possibility of including a referendum on alcohol sales on November's ballot, and the issue will be on the agenda at the next council meeting.
Many Georgia cities are moving to put the question on the ballot this year after Governor Nathan Deal recently signed legislation that allows voters to decide. The state is one of three that don't allow Sunday alcohol sales.
Among items discussed at Tuesday night's work session were new benches for the city's parks, a possible agreement with Caribbean Soccer League to lease Medlock Park on Sundays, and the renovation of the old train depot after city hall, the police department and the municipal court move to a new location.
