City of Stone Mountain Sets Town Hall Meeting for Oct. 17

Upcoming forum was one of several topics discussed at work session

The Stone Mountain City Council has scheduled a town hall meeting for Monday, Oct. 17, 6:30 p.m.

Besides the lengthy discussion about the , the town hall meeting was among other topics and information covered at the city council’s recent work session, including:

  • A successful “Movies on Main” in August;
  • The Stone Mountain Village Visitor Center recorded 184 visitors in August from 22 states and Washington, D.C., and seven countries;
  • the noise level at a Second Street church, which has been issued a citation as well as a verbal warning;
  • a proposal for live stream of council meetings at the new city hall;
  • update on the Depot renovation;
  • application for beer/wine license, , 961 Main Street.
  • transportation enhancement memorandum of understanding between the city and the Georgia Department of Transportation for streetscape  phase III - Main to Second Street (Visitor Center Area), federal funding of $168,000;
  • transportation enhancement memorandum of understanding between the city and GDOT for Streetscape Phase IV- Second Street (East Mountain to Poole Street), federal funding of $235,000.

The Stone Mountain City Council's regular business meeting is on Monday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m., in the court room.
