Decatur Native to Lead AT&T in Georgia Region

Alex Parker, a Georgia Tech graduate, spent summers as a college intern for the company before joining AT&T full time.

A Decatur native has been named by AT&T as the new general manager for its Georgia/South Carolina region.

Alex Parker will oversee the sales and operations for more than 1,300 employees, 82 AT&T-owned retail locations, and more than 650 national retail partners and authorized resellers across both states, reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Recently, Parker was vice president of AT&T Global Service Management, where he was responsible for customer service across Europe, Middle East and Africa, Canada, Caribbean and Latin America and Asia Pacific.

“I’m especially excited to return home to Georgia and with the company I have grown and developed with since college,” said Parker in a news release. “I worked as a summer intern with AT&T immediately after high school every year until graduation as part of AT&T’s partnership with INROADS Inc. I look forward to continuing our efforts to deliver a premier customer experience; strengthen our relationships in the community and expand our advanced mobile broadband network across Georgia and South Carolina.”

Parker holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master of international business degree from Saint Louis University.
