DeKalb Schools Basketball: Boys' Teams Go for Quarterfinal Berths Today

The Stephenson Jaguars travel to No. 2 ranked North Cobb (25-4) for a 7:30 p.m. contest.

Five boys' teams play second round games on today (Wednesday, Feb. 29) as No. 9 ranked Martin Luther King Jr. and No. 1 ranked Columbia host.

The Martin Luther King Lions (20-9) are coming off a triple overtime win against Lowndes County in the Class AAAAA opening round and host South Cobb (14-14) at 7 p.m. in going for their first Elite Eight berth since their 2007 run to the Class AAAAA Final Four.

The Eagles (27-1) host Dalton (21-7) at 6:30 p.m. as they go for their ninth consecutive Elite Eight berth and their 12th consecutive playoff victory.

In another Class AAAAA state playoff game the Stephenson Jaguars (9-20) look to extend their amazing postseason run as they travel to No. 2 ranked North Cobb (25-4) for a 7:30 p.m. contest.

The Jaguars are going for their third Elite Eight spot in the past five seasons.

The No. 4 ranked Southwest DeKalb Panthers (19-9) must travel to Cedar Shoals (20-9) for a 7 p.m. contest looking for their second consecutive Elite Eight in Class AAAA state tournament play.

The Towers Titans (20-8) go on the road to No. 2 ranked Allatoona (25-4) in Class AAA going for their third Elite Eight appearance in school history and the first since 1998. The game is set for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
