DeKalb Schools Football: Week 9 Schedule/Preview
Region leaders look to solidify their hold on first this week;
Four DeKalb football teams head into action on Friday night with aspirations of tightening their grasps atop the region standings.
The first region leader to hit the field on Friday is Class AAAA No. 1 ranked and Region 6-AAAA leader Tucker (6-0) as the Tigers travel to Hallford Stadium to take on the Miller Grove Wolverines (4-2) who are tied for fourth with Southwest DeKalb.
The Tigers just finished off previously undefeated Mays 50-7 while Miller Grove defeated Douglass 32-7 on Thursday night.

Miller Grove wants to tighten its hold on that fourth place spot heading into a showdown with Southwest DeKalb on October 29.
The Cedar Grove Saints (5-2, 4-0) travel to Woodward Academy (2-1, 4-2) in a Region 5B-AAA battle with the opportunity to clinch the sub region title and a possible region title game against No. 2 ranked St. Pius (6-0) on the final week of the regular season.

No. 4 ranked Stephenson and No. 5 ranked Martin Luther King Jr. host Region 2-AAAAA foes this weekend with the opportunity to stay atop the region standings along with East Coweta.
Stephenson hosts Langston Hughes (2-4) in a 7:30 contest at Hallford Stadium while the Lions take on Newton (3-3) at 7:30 at Panthersville on Friday night.
Druid Hills which has climbed above .500 on the season at 4-3 with its victory over Riverwood last weekend will try to make its mark in Region 5A-AAA as they travel to take on Class AAA No. 2 ranked and region co-leader St. Pius (6-0) on Friday night at 7:30.
