From Super District 7 Commissioner Stan Watson's office:
The DeKalb International Food and Music Festival will be an inaugural event for DeKalb County, spearheaded by Stan Watson, DeKalb District 7 Commissioner, and supported by DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis, Commissioner Elaine Boyer, the DeKalb County Board of Commission, the DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce, DeKalb Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and representatives from the Asian, African, Hispanic, Middle Eastern and West Indian Communities.
This venture will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2011, from 4:00-10:00 P.M., on the parking lot of the old GM Doraville Assembly Plant, 3900 Motors Industrial Way, Doraville, GA 30360. The festival will bring the diverse population of DeKalb and others from surrounding communities together for six hours of cultural, educational, and entertaining activities that every language and ethnicity will enjoy. This collaboration is an exciting opportunity to expand our world of diversity. It is intended to highlight the county's diverse international business community, raise awareness of business products and services, increase revenue, and provide future dialogue to continue to improve business and community relations in DeKalb. Thusly strengthening links and creating new bonds for economic growth and development. Proceeds after expenses will be donated to the Police Athletic League (PAL) and the DeKalb County Police Alliance.
