Are you ready for another round of picks?

at Westlake: Stephenson (3-0), idle last week, opens its Region 2-AAAAA schedule at Cam Newton’s alma mater. Westlake is 2-2 and 0-1 in the region after last week’s 35-14 loss to M.L. King, the only team that appears to stand in the Jaguars’ way of winning the region title. Stephenson have to wait until the end of the year to face King. What with Jaguars do until then? Stephenson 35, Westlake 10.

at Woodward Academy: Last week’s 21-7 loss to Cedar Grove in their Region 5-AAA, Division B opener gave the Stone Mountain Pirates (3-1) their first loss of the season. Woodward (2-1), which hasn’t played a subregion game yet, is a traditional power with its own playoff aspirations. This is the kind of game that could set the tone for the Pirates the rest of the year. Can they regroup? Stone Mountain 21, Woodward 20.

at Miller Grove: Redan (1-3) really needed last week’s 55-0 win over Lakeside. There may not be many wins remaining for the Raiders in tough Region 6-AAAA, but that will be one remember. Miller Grove (3-1), a 24-20 loser to Mays last week, is a few steps better than Lakeside, however. Miller Grove 34, Redan 20.
