Are you ready for another round of picks?
vs. Hughes (Hallford Stadium): As the Stephenson Jaguars (6-0, 3-0 in the region) have rolled through Region 2-AAAAA so far this season, you know it’s been difficult not to look ahead. Still ahead on the schedule are the region's three other 3-0 teams: East Coweta (Oct. 21), Newnan (Oct. 28) and M.L. King (Nov. 4). But don’t worry about the Jags overlooking this week’s opponent. Hughes (2-4 overall, 3-0 in the region) has lost four in a row and will offer little challenge. The Jags better be ready the final three weeks, however. Stephenson 38, Hughes 14.
Southwest DeKalb vs. (Saturday, Hallford Stadium): Redan’s playoff hopes dimmed considerably with last week’s 35-21 loss to Chamblee. The Raiders (2-4 overall and in Region 6-AAAA) are two games behind the No. 4 playoff position and must leap over five other teams to get there. One of those teams is Southwest DeKalb (4-2), which has won four of five. SW DeKalb 28, Redan 14.
