Lions and Tigers and DeKalb High School Football Playoffs...
Oh, my! Stone Mountain schools aren't in it, but the Tucker Tigers, MLK Lions continue in playoff hunt on Friday.

The 2011 high school football state playoffs continue on Friday in DeKalb County as the Martin Luther King Jr. Lions and Tucker Tigers both host quarterfinal games.
The No. 1 ranked Tigers (12-0) play hosts to Flowery Branch (11-1) on Friday at Adams Stadium in a Class AAAA Elite Eight tussle. Flowery Branch comes in to the game following a 31-21 victory over Thomas County Central in last week's second round.
Flowery Branch is the No. 3 seed out of Region 8 after losing just one game and the region tiebreaker. The Tigers are fresh off a 46-0 shutout of Griffin in the second round and are led by running backs Dallas Rivers and Yusuf Minor on offense and Vanderbilt commits Jacob Sealand and Josh Dawson on defense.

The No. 3 ranked Lions (12-0) face off with Lassiter Trojans (9-3) in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff from Hallford Stadium on Friday. The Trojans are the No. 4 seed out of Region 5 and are coming off a 20-17 upset of No. 6 ranked McEachern in last week's second round.
The Trojans defeated Brookwood 14-6 earlier in the season which is the only common opponent between them and Martin Luther King. The Lions had to rally three times last week in a 27-21 come-from-behind victory over Brookwood.

The Lions are led on offense by All-State quarterback Jonquel Dawson who is now tied for the Georgia state record for career touchdown passes with 92 after throwing for three in the win. Kenderious Whitehead leads a Lion defense that came up big in overtime to preserve the win last week.
