New Artists, Creativity Joining Stone Mountain Village

Three new artists and their creativity are coming to Stone Mountain Village through the SMart Inc. program, has announced.
The grand opening celebration for the new gallery and artists is Saturday, September 15, from 7-9:30 p.m., part of the Art Stroll.
The new Gallery, at 951 B Main Street, will become part of the existing Center Town Gallery, located at 951 A Main Street. Blacksmith and glass blower Michael Labbe-Webb, and stone and glass mosaic tile artist Christine Slocomb will be located in the new gallery at 951 B Main Street. The space will be part of Center Town Gallery, which is already in operation.

Down the street at North Town Gallery, 977 Main Street, Anita Jordan will bring the decorative, functional artworks she makes from fused glass. had previously been in the space.
One spot remains at North Town Gallery. Interested artists can fill out an application, which is found under “resources” on the SMart Inc. website.

Through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-funded program, selected artists can work in low-cost studio and gallery space provided by Stone Mountain city, which pays for the spaces' utilities, according to the SMart Inc. web site.
