Park Springs Welcomes Sandra Durbin as Director of Health Services
Sandra oversees the care in the Skilled Assisted Living and Memory Care divisions in Cobblestone, Park Springs' top healthcare center.

Sandra Durbin joined the Park Springs team in January 2016 as Director of Health Services. Her duties include overseeing the care within the Skilled Assisted Living and Memory Care divisions in Cobblestone, Park Springs’ outstanding healthcare center. In addition, she assists Park Springs Members who live independently but who may need to access supportive services on the 54-acre Park Springs campus.
After obtaining her degree in Psychology from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, Sandra served for more than 20 years in the senior living and healthcare industry in a variety of positions. “I have been a social worker in skilled nursing facilities as well as regular hospitals. I also have experience in home health and hospice care, and I have spent the last 14 years in Assisted Living,” she explains. Prior to working with seniors and their families, Sandra worked with juvenile delinquents.
Sandra’s career has taken her into a direction that she did not foresee. She smiles when she shares that “…I was never a medical person. I don’t like needles or blood, but I took a job as a social worker in a nursing home, and then I found that I kept falling in love with the people and their stories. I loved their stories of strength, of their families, and the things they had been through. There was a lot of wisdom and pride.”

The mother of three and grandmother of one determined that senior healthcare was the area where she could make a difference. “The older generation built our country. If you take the time to listen, you’ll learn a lot. I came to realize how important it is that we treat our aging population with respect and dignity.”
She is eager to help the older generation recognize when they need assistance, even though that is not always easy when dealing with issues of pride and independence.

Sandra grew up in a small town in Ohio, and now enjoys living in Historic Norcross where she can walk to the park and is close to many activities. However, she will always be a Midwesterner at heart. Go Buckeyes!
