Photographer Travis Hudgons captured the tears, joy and pride at the commencement ceremony for on May 24 at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.

Among those in attendance were DeKalb County Schools' superintendent Cheryl Atkinson and Thomas Bowen of the DeKalb board of education.
