S. Hairston Kroger $1 Million Remodel Underway

The remodeling of the Road is now underway.

The old floor in a section of the store that includes produce and bread is the first to come up; new, shinier floors will be installed throughout the store, which is also replacing its shelves, getting a new entrance and new interior decor. The remodel also includes raising the ceiling

The more than $1 million makeover, expected to be complete by early spring, is intended to create a "brighter, fresher" look, a spokesman told Patch in November.

It's been 12 years since the store, which opened in May 1986, was last remodeled.
