Stone Mountain City Council Work Session Agenda, Jan.17
A rezoning initiative, 2011 end-of-year budget adjustments and more will be discussed.

The Stone Mountain City Council meets at at 6 p.m. to have its work session tonight (Jan. 17). Items on the agenda include:
Committee Discussion Items:
- Planning and Zoning - Rezoning initiative by the City of Stone Mountain, 5329 Mimosa Drive, to correct the zoning map - rezone property from R2 (traditional residential) to VCM (Village Center Mixed Use). Parcel #18-089-05-011. Public hearing set for February 21, 2012 at 6 p.m.
- Finance - 2011 End of Year Budget Adjustments
- Public Safety - Tickets and community service
Other committee discussion items on the agenda include community affairs, economic development, community outreach, public works, Main Street and Downtown Development Authority, historic preservation and visitor center.

There will be staff reports from the code compliance officer, chief of police and public works director.
Under new business: consent agenda; set date for a retreat; employee health and dental insurance renewal; and Downtown Development Authority financial status.

In addition to the city manager's report, there will be announcements by Mayor Pat Wheeler and citizens' comments on non-agenda items (citizens' comments on agenda items only will happen toward the beginning of the meeting).
