Georgia’s Connections Academy is an Online Public Charter School that serves the Georgia area. This is an excellent program for families that desire an alternative educational method for their children. Georgia Connections Academy gives the parent the opportunity to be their child’s personal learning coach by teaching in a virtual setting with the support of highly skilled and qualified teachers. The school also has live lessons online via webcam that are very informative and fulfilling. If you take all of the fluff out of the brick and mortar schools and get to the point as this curriculum does, you will see your child grow and develop a love for learning and a very high increase of intelligence along the way.

After signing up for this school they will send you a box full of textbooks, workbooks and supplies that you will need during the year. When I first received the box, I was a little overwhelmed because I was not used to seeing “School” broken down in parts. But, after getting our home workspace organized and learning the schools systems, we were excited and on a new journey of education. The school also schedules several meet and greets as well as field trips throughout the year. I was totally surprised at how focused this schools system, curriculum and teaching staff is. 

Georgia Connections Academy also requires Parent/Teacher/Student meetings every few weeks to monitor the progress of the child and to ensure that the parents and students are successful in the program. So, far this has been a rewarding experience. Parents (Learning Coaches) and students are held to an integrity honor code as well as assigned task such as recording attendance and marking lessons and assignments complete. Also, there are times when assignments are scanned or mailed in to the teacher for grading.  So, by no way do any child slides by without testing and all lessons being reinforced to ensure that understanding is successful. There are many quizzes, test and in person assessments that are required also.

I urge the people of Georgia that can teach their own children to educate themselves in the educational alternatives that are out there accredited and available for you.
