The Israel of God is Expanding

on Redan Road is growing.

The church is building an annex that will seat 400-500 people, include a banquet hall, four classrooms, full gourmet kitchen, conference room and pastor's study, said Pastor Deuel Hill.

Work actually began in November 2010, Hill said. The hope is that the construction will be done sometime in September or October.

The Israel of God Atlanta as a whole is expanding; the church recently opened a location in Zimbabwe. Its other locations are in Buffalo (NY), Chicago, Dallas, Kalamazoo (MI), Memphis, Minneapolis, and Orlando.

The church location on Redan Road is on the site of a former Pike Nursery and near the Hairston Crossing Library.

The Israel of God is described on its web site as a Bible Study class. "Our purpose is to teach the uncut Word of God according to the Prophets (Old Testament) and the Apostles (New Testament)," according to the site.
