The Week Ahead in Stone Mountain

It's a new week and almost a new month. Here are some things to know about the week and some events to put on your calendar. 

Apropros calendars and events, if you haven't yet signed up for Nan Nash's monthly newsletter, now's a good time. Nan is responsible for community outreach on Stone Mountain's city council, and she sends out a newsletter at the first of the month that's chock full of events and news. Monday, Feb. 28:

- Stone Mountain Patch is two months old today! Thank you for your support. If you like Patch, tell your friends and neighbors about it. 

- The Downtown Development Authority meets at 7 p.m. in the city hall annex, next to the Sue Kellogg Library.

- Rain is a certainty today, according to the National Weather Service, but the high will be 74 degrees. 

- The second round of Patch's basketball challenge has started. Make your picks for the winners in the state tournament games for a chance to win prizes.  The deadline is 5 p.m. Tuesday for this round. 

Tuesday, March 1: 

- City council meets at 7:30 p.m. for its monthly business .

- Tell Patch by 5 p.m. which teams will win in the second round of the state basketball tournament, and win some prizes if you're right!

Wednesday, March 2:

- Main Street Stone Mountain at 8:30 a.m. in the annex, next to Sue Kellogg Library.

Thursday, March 3: 

Fans of tv's The Office, don't plan anything for this evening. NBC has scheduled three hours of reruns of the popular show from 8 - 11 p.m.

Friday, March 4:

Stone Mountain begins at 9 a.m. at the clubhouse,  5514 E. Mountain Street. 

Saturday, March 5:

ART Station is offering two tickets for the price of one to see The Outrageous Adventures of Sheldon and Mrs. Levine. The code to get the discount is "Saturday night salami special."
