Two Lithonia Schools Evacuated After Water Main Break

Students transferred from Murphey Candler Elementary and Arabia Mountain High schools.

WSB-TV is reporting that Murphey Candler Elementary School and Arabia Mountain High School in Lithonia have been evacuated due to a water main break.

11Alive is reporting the schools were evacuated around 11:00 am Monday. A DeKalb schools spokesman said the estimated repair time is three to four hours.

Ninth and 10th grade students have been transferred to Lithonia High School, while 11th and 12th grade students have been sent to Miller Grove High. Murphey Candler students are at Salem Middle School.

Students will be transported back to their respective schools for dismissal.
