Gwinnett Teacher Charged With Firing Gun Into Neighbor's Home
The teacher told investigators she was considering shooting herself before she fired the shot.

A Gwinnett County high school teacher has been charged with firing a gun into a neighbor's home, nearly striking a teenager.
Police in Braselton, just across the Gwinnett County line in Barrow County, told WSB-TV that Nyree Rapley, 41, and her boyfriend were arguing on March 20 in her home when she took his guns.
Rapley reportedly told investigators she was considering shooting herself. Instead, she fired a shot just before 2 a.m. that went through a wall and into a neighboring townhome.

A bullet landed just feet away from a 16-year-old, police said.
Rapley is a chemistry teacher and cheerleading coach at Mill Creek High School.

Police say Rapley's boyfriend kicked down a door and took away the two revolvers she had taken.
A Gwinnett County Public Schools spokesperson told WSB that Rapley has been working for the district since 2001 and remains employed.
She has been charged with reckless conduct and discharging a firearm.
