Suwanee Double-Shooting Victims Still in Critical Condition

Gunshots were exchanged between two cars parked next to each other, critically wounding two people, Gwinnett Police say.

SUWANEE, GA -- Two people remained in critical condition Wednesday after a double shooting in Suwanee that police were continuing to try to unravel.

Gwinnett County Police were called to 2090 Pendleton Pl., in unincorporated Suwanee, shortly before 2 p.m.

The officers were told that the occupants of two cars, a black one and a silver one, had been shooting at one another, police said Wednesday in the most detailed account of the shooting yet.

The cars were gone by the time officers arrived.

A neighbor told them she was in her home when she saw the two cars, facing opposite directions. She heard several loud bangs and watched as the black car backed up and drove away.

Multiple occupants of the silver car got out and chased the black car, she said. They ran a short way, then got back in their car. She saw that one of the windows of the silver car was shattered, police said.

Police say another witness came forward with a similar account.

Soon afterward, two people arrived separately at Gwinnett Medical Center with what police are describing as life-threatening wounds.

Police are not releasing the names of the shooting victims, pending notification of family members.

After the first victim was dropped off at the hospital, the driver of the black car returned to Pendleton Place, police say. The driver said that he simply dropped the victim off at the hospital and was not involved in the shooting.

After the second victim arrived, police found the silver car in the hospital parking lot. Both vehicles have been impounded by police.

Police say the lead detective in the case is still following up on leads and tips as they come in.

Police did not release a possible motive on Wednesday. No warrants have been filed in the case as of Wednesday morning.
