
DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis invites the public to attend a rain barrel workshop for DeKalb citizens hosted by DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM). The workshop is set for Thursday, Oct. 27, 6:30 β 8:00 p.m. at the , 4898 Lavista Road in Tucker.
Collecting rainwater in rain barrels for use during dry months is an excellent way to conserve water and reduce water bills.Β During the workshop, citizens will be instructed on rain barrel maintenance and water conservation landscaping.Β
The rain barrel workshop is open to the first 20 DeKalb County residents who sign up. This is a βhands onβ workshop where residents will make their own rain barrels with DWM assistance.

The cost of the workshop is $30, which includes all the materials to make your very own barrel. The deadline to register is Friday, Oct. 21.
