Gelato Plant Brings 100 Jobs to Marietta

Talenti Gelato has acquired a former Kroger ice cream production facility in Marietta. The expansion represents the addition of up to 100 jobs in Marietta.

Talenti plans to maintain its existing plant in Dallas but relocate its primary production headquarters to the Marietta Industrial Park and begin production later this year.

Sneiderman Granted $500K Bond

A $500,000 bond was set for Andrea Sneiderman during a Tuesday court appearance in DeKalb County. 

She will be arraigned on Sept. 6 in the murder of her husband, Russell Sneiderman. He was gunned down in Nov. 2010 by her former GE Energy supervisor, Hemy Neuman, the ex-East Cobb resident who is serving life without parole.

Missing Boy in Custody, Father Arrested

An 11-year-old Cherokee County boy who had gone missing since late last week was found safe on Tuesday, and his father has been charged with several felonies, including cruelty to children and reckless conduct.

Jason Cole is accused by authorities of being on a drug binge and preventing the child from attending school for three days and for not feeding him adequately. The boy is in protective custody.

Tortoise, 70, Reunites with Forsyth Owners

Tortellini has safely returned home after going missing last week. The 70-year-old tortoise was spotted in a neighborhood near the home of worried owner Elexis Hayes and her family. 

"I'm not a sissy girl, but I cried like a big ol' baby when I got him back," Hayes said.

Feds Search Georgia for Bath Salts

The Roswell Smoke 911 shop was one of four in north metro Atlanta where federal authorities, armed with warrants, searched for "bath salts" and synthetic marijuana.

The three other shops are in Acworth, Sandy Springs and Woodstock. The Marietta residences of Michael T. Madlem, owner of the stores were also searched.
