Clean Air Campaign Wins GPA Award

The Clean Air Campaign recently took home the Georgia Planning Association’s (GPA) Award for Outstanding Educational Tool for its Get There Green Program during an award ceremony at the GPA Fall Conference in Columbus, Ga. on Friday, Sept. 28.

Through a grant from the UPS Foundation, Clean Air Schools promotes student involvement through Get There Green, a program designed to educate high school students about green transportation planning in relation to air pollution and health. Through this program, high school students are given the length of the school year to develop a school-specific, transportation plan that will reduce vehicle trips to school. After a successful pilot program during the 2011-2012 school year, the program is expected to be introduced in as many as 20 high schools in metro Atlanta this year.
