Powder Springs Teen Earns Rank of Eagle Scout
Ryan Martin has become the 30th scout in Troop #1294 to earn the rank.
Boy Scout Troop #1294 welcomed their 30th scout to reach Eagle Scout status this summer. A special Court of Honor was held on Saturday, June 23rd for Ryan Martin to celebrate his achievement.
Eagle Scout is the highest rank earned in the Boy Scout organization. Candidates are required to earn a minimum of 21 merit badges and demonstrate the Scout Spirit through the Boy Scout Oath and Law, service, and leadership.
The scout must plan, organize, lead and manage an extensive service project. Upon meeting these requirements, the scout must hold a special Eagle Scout Board of Review.

Ryan’s project took place at in Powder Springs. Along with the help of over 20 other scouts and leaders and a total estimated 300-plus volunteer hours, Ryan installed a soft playground surface for the school’s special needs playground.
Ryan plans to study chemical engineering this fall at Georgia Tech.
