Voting Suggestions for Primary Tuesday

There is one referendum and one election that needs special mentioning. If you have already voted or made up your mind, you can still do something more.

By now I guess that most of you have made up your minds on certain persons or issues and might have already voted.

If or if not this might still be interesting to you. There is one referendum and one election that needs special mentioning. If you have already voted or made up your mind you can still do something more.

I refer here to the T SPLOST Referendum that needs a NO vote. If you still need reasons simply go to www.traffictruth.net. That site has more information than I can possibly give you in a short article.

The election is for Cobb County Commission Chair. This is a vital, game changing election. I am voting for Bill Byrne.

When he was County Chair during the 1990's the Board of Commissioners was on the ball. Today under Tim Lee, it is all to friendly to the Cobb Chamber of Commerce that is trying to push the T-SPLOST down our throats for purely selfish reasons. The connection between the Cobb County Government and this unelected arm of government needs to be broken and Byrne is the man to do so.

You can help out with these issues by talking to others who might be swayed by the $8 million campaign that backers of the T-Splost have waged. Tim Lee is also waging a negative campaign that tries to hide his questionable associations.

OTHER ELECTIONS
Non-Partisan Ballot

These are mostly Judicial Posts. Very important but are usually overlooked.
Clerk of Superior Court: This should really be appointed but since someone will be elected I suggest Rebecca Keaton.

Public Service Commission: Very important. Needs experienced persons so that is Stan Wise.

Cobb county DA.
Vic Reynolds. This is a very important election and should receive more scrutiny than it does. Our current DA, Pat Head, is retiring and he has endorsed Reynolds.

Judicial Posts
These are the Judges that must be able to weigh the rights of the public and those of the accused to have a fair trial. Van Pearlberg has been the Assistant DA for years. Again, our respected DA Pat Head has endorsed him and he should know. The Post is Superior Court. His main opponent, Castellucis, is only a traffic judge and this important job is way out of his league.

Judge, State Court Post 2. Gene Clark

Judge, Superior Court of the Cobb Judicial Circuit:
Reuben Green: He has experience and has nothing that would dis-qualify  him. His opponent has run for this post last time but I think that we have to go with the experienced candidate.

If you have voted, good for you. If not I will see you Tuesday.

Tom Bevirt

PS. Next time I will have an analysis of the above. After that there are some important city of Powder Springs issues that are yet to be resolved.
