Carr Named Principal of Turner Middle
He will take over the role from Eric Collins, who is headed to Mason Creek Middle in Winston.

Kwame Carr will start as the principal of in July, replacing Eric Collins, who will become principal of in Winston.
“I look forward to serving Turner Middle School’s students, faculty, staff, parents, business partners and all stakeholders in our community,” Carr says in a news release. “I have always strived to be among the best as an educator, regardless of my position. As Turner’s principal, I will continue to do the same.”
Carr, who was appointed to the position by the Douglas County Board of Education, will be coming from Benjamin Banneker High School in Fulton County, where he has been assistant principal since 2008. From 2007 to 2008, he was an assistant principal at Factory Shoals Middle in Douglasville.

He was a math coach at Hapeville Elementary School in Fulton County from 2005 to 2007, and from 1998 to 2005, he was a math teacher at Paul D. West Middle School, also in Fulton County.
“I have learned that building a culture of success takes time and commitment,” Carr says in the release. “A culture of success is created by paying attention to details while maintaining the big picture and taking corrective actions, using best practices in education based upon empirical data.”

Collins will replace Mason Creek Middle’s current principal, Kay Davis, who is retiring.
