Celebrate Simchat Torah with us at Shabbat Services September 27
Join us for a Shabbat Service, Consecration Ceremony and Simchat Torah celebration on September 27 at 6:30pm

Simchat Torah and Sh'mini Atzeret immediately follows Sukkot. We celebrate Sh'mini Atzeret and Simchat Torah, a fun-filled day during which we celebrate the completion of the annual reading of the Torah and affirm Torah as one of the pillars on which we build our lives. As part of the celebration, the Torah scrolls are taken from the ark and carried or danced around the synagogue seven times. During the Torah service, the concluding section of the fifth book of the Torah, D’varim (Deuteronomy), is read, and immediately following, the opening section of Genesis, or B'reishit as it is called in Hebrew, is read. This practice represents the cyclical nature of the relationship between the Jewish people and the reading of the Torah.
This year, as we wait for our new Temple to become ready for us to hold services, we will be celebrating the holiday at the Canterbury Clubhouse, 3804 Courson Street Marietta, GA 30066 on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. This will be a Shabbat Service, Consecration Ceremony and Simchat Torah celebration with our Rabbi Thomas Liebschutz leading the service. Oneg following services to be sponsored by The Goldstein Family. All are welcome to join us. For more information e-mail info@mynertamid.org or call 678.264.8575 and leave a message.
