Crime Chronicle: Fire, Burglaries
Here are recent incidents responded to by Powder Springs police.

Sept. 30
Burglary: When the complainant arrived at his home in the 3300 block of Hickory Lane in the evening, the front door was wide open. The frame to the door was damaged. Stolen were a 24-inch flatscreen TV, a Playstation 3 video game system, and a Wii video game system. Fingerprints were obtained by police.

Burglary: A woman in the 2900 block of Stonewater Court told that two men entered her home, possibly through an unlocked door, and stole a Toshiba laptop and JYC camcorder. The woman's daughter was asleep that evening in an upper bedroom and, upon awakening, went downstairs and saw two men running out of the house. The woman said the men jumped her privacy fence and left a T-shirt, hat, and a strap off a backpack.
Fire: The cover of an in-ground pool behind a vacant house in the 3500 block of Mustang Drive was set on fire at night. Cobb firefighters arrived to extinguish it. Police also noticed the house had several broken windows, and neighbors said it had been vacant for several years. A property owner was unable to be found.
