Crime Chronicle: Thefts, Shell Robbed

Here are recent incidents responded to by Powder Springs police.

Accounts of the following incidents are based on reports.

Burglary, Forced Entry, Nov. 29, 4400 block of Birch Brooke Path: The back door of the vacant house had been forced open. Several appliances were still in the house when police arrived. The owner couldn't immediately be located. 

Assault/Battery, Nov. 30, 4000 block of Wylie Lane: The victim came to the police department to tell police about the dispute between her and and a man.

Business Robbery, Dec. 1, 4321 Brownsville Road: Police were dispatched shortly after midnight to the  in reference to an armed robbery in progress. The robber used a gun to rob the clerk, and there were three witnesses. There isn't any further information on the police report.

Theft, Dec. 1, : Two bus drivers for Cobb County schools called police about 7:30 a.m., saying they saw someone entering a car near the at the park. Police would charge a student with theft after he admitted entering the car but not giving a reason why.

The student was dropped off before school began. He told police that he walked out of the school and to the park, where he entered the car. A juvenile complaint form was filed against the child, who was released to his father.

Burglary, Attempted Forced Entry and Damage to Property, Dec. 1, 5600 block of Walnut Mill Lane: Police were dispatched to G & W Associates in reference to a burglary. Other information isn't included in the police report.

Burglary, Forced Entry, Dec. 2, 1100 block of Paddocks Way: The homeowner told police that someone broke into his house through a backdoor. Nothing appeared to be taken. 

Traffic Stop on C.H. James Parkway at Florence Road, Dec. 2: Powder Springs resident Matthew Randall was charged with possession of marijuana, violation of traffic control device, and driving under the influence of drugs in the stop. The police report doesn't have any further information.

Possession of Marijuana, Dec. 5, 3900 block of Lindley Drive: While on patrol, an officer spotted a "suspicious male sitting in a car." The male, Woodstock resident Jerry Melton, was charged with possession of marijuana. The police report doesn't have any further information. 

Theft, Dec. 5, Brownsville Road : A woman told police that she accidentally left her wallet in a shopping cart. When she returned, her wallet had been turned into the store, but she said it was missing $366.
