After completing this module, the participants will be able to:
- Explain why it is important to save
- Determine goals for saving money
- Identify savings options
- Determine which savings options will help them reach their savings goals
- Recognize which investment options are right for them
- List ways to save for retirement
- List ways to save for large expense goals, including: a child's college tuition, a car or home purchase, or a vacation

This class is being taught by a representative for Regions Bank and is from the FDIC's Money Smart program. Money Smart is a comprehensive financial education curriculum designed to help low- and moderate-income individuals outside the financial mainstream enhance their financial skills and create positive banking relationships. Money Smart has reached over 2.75 million consumers since 2001. Research shows that the curriculum can positively influence how consumers manage their finances, and these changes are sustainable in the months after the training.
