Helen Hou Sandi and Adrian Sandi are the featured guest artists and soloists. They will perform with UWG’s Wind Symphony & Symphonic Band. The couple studied at the Eastman School of Music, at the University of Rochester, New York.
Helen Hou Sandi will perform a solo: Edvard Grieg’s “Piano Concerto in A Minor, movement 1.” Adrian Sandi’s solo is Scott McAllister’s “Black Dog: Rhapsody for Clarinet.”
The UWG bands will perform several newer works, as well some of the greatest works written for the genre. These include: Samuel Barber’s “Commando March”; Frank Ticheli's “Cajun Folk Songs II”; Steven Bryant’s “Dusk”; and Vittorio Giannini's “Symphony No. 3 in B-flat.”
