Garrod Entrekin Dies at 78

He worked in the sales and service department for Phaff Peagasus Corporation.

Garrod “Gary” Jadon Entrekin, a 78-year-old Powder Springs man, passed away Sunday.

He was born April 14, 1933 in Fairburn. He's the son of the late Ary Jasper Entrekin and the late Florida Matilda Sitton Entrekin.

He married Joyce Elaine Holland on July 3, 1953 in Hiram. He worked in the sales and service department for Phaff Peagasus Corporation. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Douglasville, where he was a member of the Senior Adult Pioneers and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Elaine Holland Entrekin; son, Joel Allen Entrekin; sisters, Opal Camp and Isabelle Tarpley; brothers, Oscar Entrekin, Herbert Entrekin, and Holder Entrekin. 

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lisa Entrekin of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Pauline Entrekin of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Miranda and Shane George and Jaydon Entrekin; one great-granddaughter, Bella George; special friend, JoEllen Gordon; several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends at the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Tuesday. Funeral Services were also conducted on Tuesday, with the Rev. Gene Fields and Gaither Trussell officiating. Interment followed at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn.
