Hillgrove a Win Away from State Semis

Here's what's happening in high school athletics in Powder Springs and Lithia Springs on May 17.

If you're a fan of high school baseball, then you better make plans to be at for today's AAAAA state quarterfinal showdown.

The doubleheader pits Hillgrove against one of the hottest teams in Georgia: Mill Creek (24-6). The state's No. 2 team will be riding an 11-game win streak into Hillgrove. Mill Creek hasn't lost since April 13.

However, don't expect the Hawks to be intimidated. Hillgrove, also 24-6, is currently on the second longest winning streak in AAAAA. The Hawks are on a 10-game run, and they haven't lost since April 16.
