Job Fairs Today, Thursday To Fill 1,000-Plus Jobs

A company is recruiting today to fill positions in several North Atlanta locations, while The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta aims to fill 1,000 positions at a job fair in Woodstock Thursday.

The Georgia Department of Labor is assisting two employers in filling a number of jobs in Cobb and Cherokee counties this week.

Today, the Sullivan Group will hold pre-screenings and job interviews from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta.

The company will be recruiting for multiple positions at several North Atlanta locations. The positions include accounts payable personnel, sales representatives, administrative assistants, print machine operators, industrial operations managers, quality control representatives, and warehouse workers for general assembly, painting, pressing and welding, and shipping and receiving.

Applicants must pass a background check, complete a drug screening test, and have two verifiable references. Salaries range from $8 to $22 an hour and up to $50,000 per year for the sales representatives positions.

Then, on Thursday, the GDOL will assist The Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta with a job fair in Woodstock. The job fair will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. at Etowah High School, located at 6565 Putnam Ford Drive. The event is expected to fill over 1,000 part-time and full-time positions for a retail outlet scheduled to open in July. The retailers participating include: Aéropostale, Bass, Bose, Carter's, Clarks, Cole Haan, Dress Barn, Easy Spirit, Famous Footwear, Fox, Gold Toe, Guess, Gymboree, Haggar, Hartstrings, J. Crew, Jockey, Johnston & Murphy, Jones New York, Jos. A. Bank, Journeys, Justice, Kasper, Lucky Brand, Maidenform, Naartjie Kids, Naturalizer, New Balance, Nike Factory Store, Nine West, OshKosh B'Gosh, P.S. from Aéropostale, Van Heusen, Vans, and Wilsons Leather. Employers will discuss salaries with the job seekers.
