Mieczyslaw Nowak Passes Away at 62

Visitation for Mieczyslaw “Mitch” Nowak, a 62-year-old Powder Springs resident who passed away Tuesday, is scheduled for tonight from 5 to 8 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory.

Born July 1, 1948, Nowak came to the United States from Poland 21 years ago, according to his obituary. He lived in Chicago for a short period of time before coming to Georgia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wladyslaw and Helena Nowak. He is survived by his wife, Maria Nowak of Powder Springs; daughters Caroline Anna Nowak and Bernadette Julia Nowak of Powder Springs, and Mariola Sobczyk and Ewa Iwona Nowak of Poland; step-mother Zofia Nowak of Poland; brother Adam Nowak of Poland; granddaughter Paulina Sobczyk of Poland; and nieces Katherine of Powder Springs and Agatha of Poland.

Nowak worked in floor maintenance for Wal-Mart in Douglasville. Funeral services and burial will be in Poland at a later date.
