New Boutique Brings Fresh Fashion to Powder Springs

Rachel Summerlin’s dream officially came true on April 28—the day her business, Nova’s Boutique, opened.

“This was a passion of mine for years,” she said of boutique-ing, something inspired by her mother and the business’s namesake, Nova Jackson, “and as a child, I always wanted to open a boutique.”

So after her neck was injured while working at a corporate job, she pushed her dream to fruition.

It took Summerlin and her husband about seven weeks to renovate the large vacant space next to on Marietta Street in downtown Powder Springs. It had been without a business for several years and needed a lot of work, Summerlin said.

Now, she’s happy that it’s up and going and serving customers, she added.

Nova’s offers men’s and women’s clothing, jewelry, hats, purses, and many more accessories.

Summerlin, 50, moved to Powder Springs eight years ago from Smyrna, where her son and daughter—both now grown—graduated from Campbell High School. She recently welcomed her first grandchild.
