Powder Springs Man Indicted on Sexual Battery Charges
The indictment stems from an alleged incident involving three young girls at Six Flags White Water Park last September.
The Cobb County grand jury has indicted a Powder Springs man on three counts of sexual battery.
Jerry Dean Westbrook, 69, is charged with touching the buttocks of three young girls in a pool at Six Flags White Water Park, 250 Cobb Parkway North, Marietta, on Sept. 2, 2012. Westbrook’s indictment, which was handed down Thursday, was announced via a news release today by Cobb District Attorney Vic Reynolds.
Westbrook was arrested by Marietta Police in October. Authorities then said they began an investigation in September after witnesses reported seeing a white man, between the ages of 50 and 70, having inappropriate contact with female children in the wave pool.

If convicted, each count of sexual battery carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Odom is prosecuting the case, which has been assigned to Cobb Superior Court Judge A. Greg Poole.
Westbrook, who is being represented by Atlanta attorney Bruce Steven Harvey, is currently free on bond.
