The supermoon occurs when a full moon lines up with the Earth and the sun at a specific point in its orbit, according to The Huffington Post. The moon will appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter.
Another supermoon will appear in July; however, the moon will not be this close to Earth again until August 2014. The moon will become full Sunday at 7:32 a.m. and visible again after sunset.
