Thank you Congressman Scott
1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s disease. The only leading cause of death in the U.S. that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed, it is imperative that we have elected officials who are working to make Alzheimer’s a national priority.
As an Alzheimer’s Association advocate, I was fortunate to meet with meet with Congressman Scott's staff in Smyrna to discuss the staggering impact of Alzheimer’s on Georgia and across the nation. In a meeting at his district office, my fellow advocates and I shared our own personal experience with this devastating disease.
We implored Congressman Scott to be a champion in Congress for the 140,000 Georgians living with Alzheimer's and to take decisive action by passing the Building Our Largest Dementia (BOLD) Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act (S. 2076/H.R. 4256). Endorsed by the Alzheimer’s Association, the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act would create an Alzheimer’s public health infrastructure across the country to implement effective Alzheimer's interventions including increasing early detection and diagnosis, reducing risk and preventing avoidable hospitalizations.
Please join me in thanking Congressman Scott for his support and co-sponsorship of the in the BOLD Act in our fight to end Alzheimer’s.
