Weekend Roundup: Hawks, Indians Keep Rolling

Each Monday we'll take a look at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Powder Springs-Lithia Springs Patch.

Hillgrove 35, Kennesaw Mountain 0 – Hillgrove remained perfect on the season with its blanking of Friday, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. The Mustangs slowed Hillgrove in the first quarter, but allowed 28 second-quarter points before halftime.

Hillgrove’s Kenyan Drake tallied 178 rushing yards on the night while Kennesaw Mountain accumulated 114 yards of total offense.

McEachern 31, Harrison 14 – McEachern has averaged just over 46 points per win since losing to Hillgrove on Oct. 7, but , even in the loss, held the Indians tight to start the game, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

There was no score through the first quarter of play and Harrison trailed by just a touchdown entering the fourth quarter before McEachern pulled away.

Villa Rica 33, Lithia Springs 12 - had trouble stopping Villa Rica running back B.J. McCoy who rushed for three touchdowns, according to the Times-Georgian. The Lions scored twice, but couldn't keep pace with the stronger Wildcats.
