$1 Million Lottery Prize Claimed By 10 Co-workers

A convenience store on Highway 92 in Woodstock sold the winning Feb. 15 Powerball ticket.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- A pool of 10 employees from the American Honda Motor Company Inc. recently claimed a $1 million prize from the Feb. 15 Powerball drawing.

Winning numbers from the drawing were: 5-28-33-38-42 and the Powerball was 19. The group matched the first five winning numbers using the Quik Pik option.

Dennis Burgess, a 39-year-old stock and material handler for Honda and a member of the pool, said that he was in disbelief when he discovered that the group had a winning ticket.

The AM PM Woodstock Convenience Store, located at 12152 Highway 92 in Woodstock, sold the winning ticket. Burgess claimed the group’s lucky prize Friday at the Georgia Lottery Duluth District Office.

Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $403 million to a single annuity winner.

As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
