2018 Graduation Ceremonies Start May 24 In Cherokee
The Woodstock Police Department is advising residents to expect traffic delays around First Baptist Church of Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The Woodstock Police Department is reminding residents to expect traffic delays along Highway 92 later this week, as the Cherokee County School District will hold commencement ceremonies for the class of 2018.
Heavy traffic is expected in the area of Highway 92 at First Baptist Church of Woodstock and along Trickum and Neese roads at least one hour before the start of each ceremony, the city said.
About 3,000 CCSD seniors are expected to graduate this week, school district spokesperson Barbara Jacoby told Patch. The dates and times for each traditional high school's graduation ceremony are:

Thursday, May 24
- 4 p.m.: River Ridge High School
- 8 p.m.: Etowah High School
Friday, May 25

- 4 p.m.: Creekview High School
- 8 p.m. Woodstock High School
Saturday, May 26
- 9 a.m.: Cherokee High School
- 1 p.m.: Sequoyah High School
Uniformed officers will be on hand to assist with traffic congestion. However, the Woodstock Police Department is encouraging drivers to avoid this area and use alternate routes, if possible. If you are traveling to a graduation ceremony, please give yourself enough time to allow for traffic delays.
