CCSD Releases 2018 Graduation Dates, Early Release Schedule
Graduation ceremonies will be held at First Baptist Church of Woodstock.

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee County School District is reminding residents that graduation ceremonies and early release days will occur next week, which will impact traffic flow in surrounding areas.
Graduation ceremonies will begin Thursday, May 24 and run through Saturday, May 26 at First Baptist Church of Woodstock. Here's the rundown of ceremonies for each of the county's six traditional high schools:
Thursday, May 24

- 4 p.m.: River Ridge High School
- 8 p.m.: Etowah High School
Friday, May 25
- 4 p.m.: Creekview High School
- 8 p.m. Woodstock High School
Saturday, May 26

- 9 a.m.: Cherokee High School
- 1 p.m.: Sequoyah High School
Students at all CCSD high schools will have the option of leaving campus early following final exams on a varied schedule beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24. High school buses will continue to depart on their usual afternoon schedule. Middle and elementary school dismissal is not affected.
On the last day of school, set for May 25, all CCSD high schools and middle schools will dismiss on a half-day schedule, with buses departing early. Elementary school dismissal is not affected and will remain 2:15 p.m.
High school and middle school students and parents already have been advised of this schedule; this schedule is being shared with the community at large as a courtesy, as we know it will affect traffic patterns.
The May 25 early release schedule for middle and high schools are:
- ACE Academy: 11:30 a.m.
- Cherokee HS: 12 p.m.
- Creekland MS: 12 p.m.
- Creekview HS: 12 p.m.
- Dean Rusk MS: 12:45 p.m.
- E.T. Booth MS: 12:45 p.m.
- Etowah HS: 12 p.m.
- Freedom MS: 12:45 p.m.
- Mill Creek MS: 12:45 p.m.
- River Ridge HS: 12 p.m.
- Sequoyah HS: 12 p.m.
- Teasley MS: 12 p.m.
- Woodstock HS 12 p.m.
- Woodstock MS: 12:45 p.m.
As for graduation, motorists should note these celebrations will cause some traffic delays in the areas surrounding First Baptist Church of Woodstock, which is located at the corner of Neese Road and Highway 92. You should expect to see uniformed police officers helping motorist work their way through traffic congestion. Please note that to avoid any delays, you should avoid the area.
