CCSD Salutes Retiring Principals with Special Event

From CCSD: The Cherokee County School District thanked five retiring Principals with a special salute and luncheon on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower paid tribute to each retiring Principal – Donna Adams of CCSD Preschool Centers, Jan Adamson of R.M. Moore ES, Elliott Berman of Sequoyah HS, Dr. Ann Gazell of Indian Knoll ES and Darrell Herring of River Ridge HS -- as part of the event before presenting a plaque of recognition and appreciation and turning the microphone over to them for remarks.

“I would go to bat for any of these five any day,” Dr. Hightower said. “They are exceptional educators and outstanding leaders. We have been honored by their service and wish them all the best in their retirement.”

Dr. Hightower in his remarks commended their impressive dedication to public education, with each serving for more than 30 years… and Principal Berman reaching the amazing milestone of 54 years in the profession!

The audience of fellow Principals, District leaders and School Board members congratulated the retirees with standing ovations, and then all enjoyed lunch donated by First Baptist Woodstock’s We Foster program that encourages adoption of foster children.
